* since i got bored with del.icio.us posting robot, i’ll try and see if i can round up daily links by myself. shouldn’t be that much sweat, i guess. and i’m sure i will obviously lose the trail of what i was supposed to be doing and end up rambling about prosimians or who knows what by the third paragraph.
* Phnom Penh Garbage Dump, a photoset on Flickr by Primitive Nerd, just discovered via things magazine. impressing, harboring reflex thoughts of a garbage scavenging future, too. which doesn’t seem that much far from today.
* di indigetes: minor roman indigenous deities, as opposed to novensides, the imported ones. it’s a long list, unluckily mostly directing to short stubs and dead ends. and it feels so close to minzoku-shinto, a dedicated deity for about anything. in another lifetime i’d be researching every entry on the list just to see what might emerge from it. imaginary todo lists flying above kite-like.
* been a while since i wanted to point to readyready: somebody who actually went and set up the first number station on twitter; 96 updates since February the 7th, and ten mysterious followers. is this thing serving a purpose? do number stations do? not so long ago i happened to catch a live one on my cheap portable shortwave radio and it all felt spystory;
* speaking of twitter: noticed that english is not the main language on the public timeline page anymore. ultimately, i think it’s a good thing, very babeltowerish: tune in at any second and by chance you will not grasp even the slightest hint at what’s going on. exactly like life. why should it be any different? though i’ve temporarily decided to stick to (my bad) english for any kind of text i’m going to make public, i’m always a strong supporter of one’s own vernacularia. why should the girl from Taipei take the hassle of translating her status thoughts in another language when all she wants to do is to publish a line of text?
(notice: this is a reply of sort to some posts i’ve read a long time ago, written by people i don’t remember @ urls i didn’t bookmark and subsequently forgot; but actually, that’s more or less what those posts asked to the imaginary Taipei girl; else, twitter will end up like orkut and the brazilian invasion or something to that effect.
which should make me add: people, really, no community is possible online. at best, just a temporary assemblage, serving some purpose, and moving on.
the rest is solipsism, rambling epics, hypertexted monologues. end of notice)
* mmm. couldn’t even wait for the third paragraph to run off trail. need more coffee. have a nice sunday there.
